The organizers of the Social Business Creation 2021 competition have announced the top 5 projects awarded the “Impactful Social Innovative Concepts” prize, valued at 2,000 CAD. Among them, the NanoNeem project from the University of International Studies (Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City) was honored to be in the top 5. The top 5 projects include 3 from Vietnam, 1 from Mexico, and 1 from Argentina.
NanoNeem is a research project focusing on herbal-based biological pesticides for sustainable agriculture, aiming to contribute to forest conservation and support remote communities. The project is led by Dr. Duong Nguyen Hong Nhung, a lecturer in the Faculty of Biotechnology. Students from the Faculty of Biotechnology at the University of International Studies and some students from the University of Commerce in Hanoi participated in the research. The project scored 91/100, being the highest-scoring project in the semi-final round.
